Bag Balm Dry Skin Crack Feet & Hand Cream Your first question is where can I buy a good cream for treating dry skin on cracked feet and rough hands. It seems that everyone has a suggestion and many of these just don’t work. The trick is to find a long-term effective skincare formula that will perform with consistent results. Today the emphasis is on natural creams and solutions that can bring relief without artificial ingredients.

It appears that sometimes older tried and true methods work better than newer more expensive remedies.

Three of these products had stood the test of time.

  1. Bag Balm
  2. Badger’s Foot Balm
  3. Zim’s Crack Cream

The first of these formulas Bag Balm can be purchased over the counter or online at places like Amazon.com, Walmart and the like.

It was originally made to soften and soothe irritation on cow udders after milking. It was never intended for use by humans. Created in 1899 by the Dairy Association Co. in Lyndonville Vermont and also made in Rock Island in Quebec.

It wasn’t to long before humans discovered its healing properties on rough elbows, chapped lips, cuts,

abrasions, tattoo healing and dry cracked feet.

Bag Balm is not only effective on humans and animals as a skin softener but can be applied to leather products to help restore their luster and flexibility.

It was used by allied troops in World War II to protect weapons against rust. In current times, ground zero during 9/11 on the feet/paws of cadaver sniffing dogs.

Pricewise it can run from $4 to over $25 depending on where you purchase and whether it is on sale. It comes in 1 and 10oz green tin. One container will last a long time. Warning it doesn’t have the greatest smell and can be a bit messy. But in this case maybe the ends justify the means. Remember to let it be absorbed into the skin before putting on clothing.

Our second formula is Badgers Foot Balm. It comes in a much smaller tin and both products work well but tend to be on the greasy side so they really need to be absorbed into the skin.

Badgers Foot Balm is made of all natural ingredients. No chemicals, synthetics, parabens or GMO’s. It is made by the W.S. Badger Company located in New Hampshire. This is a newer product. The company founded in 1995 is a family run business. Bill Whyte a carpenter originally created the formula to heal his rough dry cracked hands. Ingredients consist of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Beeswax, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera and Essential Oil of Sweet Birch.

Last but not least is Zim’s Crack Cream. This is also an all natural herbal formula. In contrast to Bag Balm this product was originally formulated for humans. The ingredients contain an anti-inflammatory made of the aloe barbadensis leaf juice; And Pimenta Acris Leaf Oil an antiseptic. Unlike the other two products it is non greasy. Regular use of any one of these three products will drastically help improve and relieve problem cracked and severely dry skin.
